TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Tallahassee man, who’s also the son of a former Leon County school resource deputy, has pleaded guilty to drug trafficking and firearms charges, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida.
Garret Culpepper, 25, is charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and unlawful possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking.
The Tallahassee man was arrested with his father, Bill Culpepper, in March 2025 after they were accused of working together to traffick marijuana, per previous reporting.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida, court documents revealed that investigators identified Garret Culpepper as a “significant distributor of illicit marijuana and THC products” back in 2023.

Officers searched the father’s home on March 18, 2025 and they found, “equipment designed to fill THC vape cartridges in bulk, just under 34 pounds of THC products, approximately 15 pounds of raw marijuana, body armor, multiple firearms, including rifles and handguns staged for easy access throughout the residence, and over $80,000 in U.S. currency,” according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida.
The man’s father, Bill Culpepper, pleaded guilty to federal firearms charges on October 30. Bill Culpepper could face up to 10 years in federal prison, with his sentencing scheduled for January 20, 2026.
Garret Culpepper faces life in prison, per the state attorney’s office. His sentencing is scheduled for March 16.
The father and son are still facing state charges in the drug trafficking conspiracy, according to CJIS.
Federal charges are still pending against a third person accused in the conspiracy. Sylvia Moore, 25, was federally indicted alongside Garret Culpepper in September 2025.
