ST. JAMES CITY, Fla. – The Lee County Sheriff’s Office’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating an officer-involved shooting on Crestwell Court in St. James City on Wednesday.

Sheriff Carmine Marceno confirmed the incident, stating it stemmed from a domestic violence investigation.

Deputies responded to the home and encountered the suspect armed with a firearm.

Authorities assured the public that the scene was contained and there was no threat to the community.
