South Florida is putting on the gloves and stepping into the ring — for a cause that truly matters.

Haymakers for Hope, the renowned nonprofit organization turning everyday people into amateur boxers for charity, has officially opened applications for its Charitable Boxing Night in Miami. The event gives locals a unique opportunity to literally fight cancer — both in and out of the ring — by raising funds for cancer research and awareness.

Applications are open now through October 20, inviting South Floridians from all walks of life to take on a life-changing challenge. No prior boxing experience is required — just courage, commitment, and the desire to make an impact.

Funds raised from the Miami event will benefit UM’s Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center along with other cancer-related charities chosen by the participating fighters themselves. Each participant trains for months, learning the discipline of boxing while fundraising to support groundbreaking cancer research and patient care initiatives.

“Gloves on, cancer off” is more than just a slogan — it’s a rallying cry for community strength, resilience, and hope.

Whether you’re ready to step into the ring or simply want to spread the word, your support can make a difference. Help us amplify this mission by sharing Haymakers for Hope’s video on your Instagram Story today and encouraging signups before October 20.
