ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Residents hoping to roll out their bins on Monday will need to wait a day, as the City of St. Petersburg pauses operations to honor Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
City officials confirmed that most administrative facilities and services will be shuttered on Monday, January 19, 2026, necessitating a temporary slide in the sanitation schedule.
What to Know About Trash & Recycling: If your collection usually happens on Monday, hold off until Tuesday. The holiday creates a ripple effect for the first half of the week:
Monday routes move to Tuesday.
Tuesday routes move to Wednesday.
Thursday and Friday routes remain unaffected and will run as normal.

Facility Closures: Beyond the sanitation shifts, the Sunrise St. Pete service centers will remain closed throughout Monday, January 19. Normal operating hours for those centers are listed at sunrisestpete.org.
