TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Wednesday was a special one at Dick Howser Stadium as the Florida State baseball team cheered on a signing by its newest member.
Eight-year-old Aaron Davis is a Seminole superfan who’s been battling a form of Leukemia for the past six months. Aaron is in remission. However, he has plenty of treatment to go, but now he’ll get to do it side-by-side with the ‘Noles thanks in part to Team Impact, an organization that brings together children fighting chronic and major illnesses with NCAA programs.
“To have {the team} show up for a dinner for him Monday night, eat hamburgers and hotdogs, talk baseball and play video games and stuff like that, you don’t see that everywhere,” said Aaron’s father, Gary Davis, of the bond his son already has with the team. “To have them be there for him and do stuff like that for him, it’s pretty special, and I can’t thank them enough for that.”
“{I’m} excited to be with the team,” beamed an excited Aaron, who broke down the team’s huddle at the end of their first meeting together.
Aaron’s ‘Noles open the season on February 13, welcoming in James Madison for a weekend series.
