After a wild ride, Mandrell and Darryll Desir are set to return to FSU for the 2026 season. It ends a 11-day stretch that started with the announcement they would be entering the portal on Jan. 5, something they did not officially do until Wednesday, Jan. 14.

Despite their entry, they never visited any schools and announced they would be returning on Thursday. It is massive news for the Seminoles, who desperately needed defensive linemen, and they were two of the best available.

Mandrell, who was just named a Freshman All-American by the FWAA, was more impactful last year, finishing with 30 tackles, including 7.5 for loss with 6.5 sacks, one forced fumble, one pass breakup, and 24 pressures. He was ranked as the No. 12 overall player and No. 4 edge in the transfer portal by 247Sports.

Darryll did not see quite as much playing time as his brother, but still played in all 12 games. He recorded 23 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and 1.0 sacks. He was ranked as the No. 23 overall player and No. 5 edge in the transfer portal by 247Sports.

Both of them will contend for a starting role for the Seminoles now that they are officially back. Their return fured up the FSU fans, who took to social media to celebrate the massive news. Here is a look at some of the best reactions.
