PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — The Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD) had a busy weekend, arresting three individuals accused of driving under the influence.

PSLPD said they are ramping up its DUI enforcement as part of the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign.

Police say their first arrest was of a woman named Gail Ciulla, who was found by a Good Samaritan with her vehicle parked in the middle of NW Torino Parkway. According to police, Ciulla fell out of the car and onto the ground shortly after.

The Good Samaritan came to Ciulla’s aid by moving her off the roadway until officers arrived and securing her vehicle. Upon officers’ arrival, Ciulla refused to cooperate with the DUI investigation. She was then arrested and taken to the St. Lucie County Jail.

She faces counts of a DUI, in addition to two counts for a prior DUI refusal and her vehicle being towed.

The second arrest was Nedrick Boldin. Police say he was initially stopped for speeding on Range Line Road, where officers suspected Nedrick was under the influence. Police say, following the DUI investigation which included roadside field sobriety exercises, he was arrested for a DUI and taken to the St. Lucie County Jail.

The final person to be taken behind bars was Charles Zerby Herwick. Police say Herwick was arrested for a DUI after a Port St. Lucie resident who called 911 near Brigantine Place to report their concern about an impaired driver.

During the officers’ investigation, police found several cans of alcohol in his vehicle. When deputies gave him a breathalyzer test, he blew a .121.
