ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida woke up to its coldest air in years Friday morning as temperatures plunged well below freezing in several inland communities.

Many locations experienced multiple hours at or below 32 degrees, making this a rare and impactful cold snap for the region.

Friday morning wake-up temps

The coldest conditions were concentrated across interior Lake, Marion and Volusia counties, where several locations experienced a hard freeze. Freezing temperatures also pushed well into Central Florida, reaching areas that rarely see prolonged cold.

Paisley: 23°

Ocala: 24°

De Leon Springs: 25°

The Villages: 26°

DeLand: 29°

Daytona Beach: 30°

Sanford: 31°

Orlando: 32°

Kissimmee: 32°

Melbourne: 33° (record-breaking)

Morning Record- Melbourne

Melbourne officially broke a long-standing cold record this morning, falling to 33 degrees and surpassing the previous record low of 34 degrees set in 1948.
