A large industrial space in St. Pete’s burgeoning Warehouse Arts District is being transformed into a massive 45,000-square-foot urban country club featuring 14 pickleball courts, a private social club, multiple bars, and more.

Construction is underway on St. Pete Athletic Paddle & Social at 680 28th Street South, inside The Factory, a 90,000-square-foot arts and culture hub along the Pinellas Trail.

First announced in 2024, St. Pete Athletic is the brainchild of serial entrepreneur Reuben Pressman, founder of Presence, which sold to Modern Campus in 2021; Graham D’Amico, owner of Major League Pickleball’s Florida Smash; Jarrett Sabatini, owner of Intermezzo Coffee & Cocktails and Bar Mezzo; and Nathan Stonecipher, owner of Green Bench Brewing.

The club, which was designed by local firm Wannemacher Jensen Architects, aims to go far beyond a typical indoor pickleball facility. In addition to pickleball, padel, table tennis, and billiards, St. Pete Athletic will feature a 6,000-square-foot social club, saunas, cold plunges, a gym, a coffee shop, and three distinct bars, including a members-only option.
