FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — Deputies found a man standing beside a blood-stained semi in a ditch behind a truck stop Thursday night, sparking a bizarre investigation that’s still unfolding.

According to deputies with the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, at around 11:30 p.m., a 911 caller reported a suspicious person in the area of South Rock Road behind the Pilot Truck Stop in Fort Pierce.

When deputies arrived, they say they encountered a man next to a semi-truck in a ditch.

The investigation reportedly uncovered blood inside the cab on the passenger door and the exterior passenger side of the big rig. The suspicious individual, later identified as 41-year-old Olson Jean of Pompano Beach, was identified as the owner of the vehicle.

Deputies say they are continuing to search the area for clues on the bizarre incident, with many questions remaining unanswered.

Jean was subsequently booked on a count of obstruction of justice and is currently held at St. Lucie County Jail.
