AT THE SCENE. NOW THE CRASH IS UNDER INVESTIGATION. MAN WAS CAUGHT TRYING TO BREAK INTO A CAR IN CAPE CORAL. POLICE ARRESTED THIS MAN ON ON TUESDAY. HE BONDED OUT OF LEE COUNTY JAIL ON FRIDAY. GULF COAST NEWS REPORTER DYLAN GRAND PIER IS TALKING TO NEIGHBORS WHO ARE SURPRISED. IT HAPPENED IN THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD. >> HERRERA WALKED RIGHT INTO THIS DRIVEWAY ON NORTHWEST 30ST PLACE IN CAPE CORAL AND TRIED TO BREAK INTO A CAR. BUT A DOORBELL CAMERA BUSTED HIM. >> HERE ACROSS THE STREET THERE WERE TRYING TO BREAK IN THE CAUSE. AND THE BOAT CARS WILL LOCK. POLICE SAY THE HOMEOWNER IN CAPE CORAL WAS ABLE TO USE FOOTAGE FROM HIS RING DOORBELL CAMERA EARLIER THIS MONTH. >> AS EVIDENCE FOR AN ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, NEIGHBORS LIKE MICHAEL MORALES, WHO’S BEEN LIVING IN THE COMMUNITY FOR NEARLY A DECADE. Angel Herrera was caught on a doorbell camera attempting to break into a car in a driveway along Northwest 31st Place in Cape Coral, leading to his arrest after a witness identified him through the footage. The homeowner reported seeing Herrera in his driveway before Herrera left on what police reported was a scooter or bicycle. Herrera was later arrested on Burnt Store Road after a witness identified him through the Ring camera footage.Herrera has since bonded out of the Lee County Jail.
