I SPOKE WITH JOSHUA VAN OVER THE PHONE TODAY WHO WITNESSED THURSDAY’S FIGHT A COUPLE BLOCK SOUTH OF CAPE CORAL PARKWAY HEADED AFTER HE SAW HIS SHOES. JUST SLIDE. US BACK IN THE HOUSE AND VICTIM SAID HE SAID THAT BECAUSE HE WAS LIKE GUYS GOING NOW. GONNA JUMP OUT THE BACK OF THE BATHROOM WINDOW LEAVE AND SURE ENOUGH. THAT’S WHAT HE SHORTLY AFTER AT LEAST A HALF A DOZEN POLICE OFFICERS SEARCHED ALONG THE MIRAMAR STREET TO LOOK FOR THE SUSPECT. THEY BROUGHT IN A HELICOPTER CANINES AND DRONES BUT NEVER FOUND HIM. NEIGHBORS WERE TOLD TO STAY INSIDE. I’VE NEVER SEEN THAT OVER. Cape Coral police are still searching for the person responsible for an assault on Thursday. Witnesses say a man threatened someone with a gun near Miramar Street. Gulf Coast News spoke with people who said this fight sparked a massive police search. “I see this guy, this white gentleman, is holding a gun, waving it in some other guy’s face,” said Joshua Vaughn. Joshua Vaughn watched a man smack another man, then point a gun at him. Shortly after, at least half a dozen police officers searched along Miramar Street to look for the suspect. They brought in a helicopter, K-9s, and drones to assist in the search. Neighbors were also told to stay inside. Gulf Coast News also spoke with John Bonvardo, who thinks he had a run-in with the suspect Thursday. He says he even pointed a gun at him. “I heard somebody out in the trashcans that the cops were looking for, around probably 10:30 a.m. The guy had come back for the gun…I had a shotgun on him, but I think after he realized that I wasn’t really going to kill him, he started running on down the street,” said John Bonvardo.
