This comes after a 32-year-old died in September after riding “Stardust Racers,” a roller coaster at Universal’s new Epic Universe theme park.
ORLANDO, Fla. — A woman died in November after riding a roller coaster at Universal Orlando Resort, according to a state report released this week.
According to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, a 70-year-old woman became unresponsive after riding “Revenge of the Mummy,” a thrill ride, on Nov. 25, 2025. The report says she later died at the hospital.
No further details of the woman’s medical incident were released.Â
10 Tampa Bay News reached out to Universal Orlando for comment. A spokesperson for the park said, “We do not comment on pending claims.”
Since the “Revenge of the Mummy” ride opened in 2004, there have been 16 reported medical incidents on the ride, ranging from dizziness and knee pain to seizures and loss of consciousness, according to the state document. The Nov. 25 death is the only one associated with the ride.
Universal describes “Revenge of the Mummy” as “a high-speed roller coaster that includes sudden and dramatic acceleration, climbing, tilting, and dropping.”
According to the theme park, a sign at the entrance of the ride features a number of warning symbols, including ones saying you should not ride if you have a history of heart conditions, abnormal blood pressure, back or neck conditions, weakened bones or muscles, or sensitivity to fog or strobing effects.

This comes after 32-year-old Kevin Rodriguez Zavala died on Sept. 17, 2025, after riding “Stardust Racers,” a roller coaster at Universal’s new Epic Universe theme park. In December, investigators found there was no criminal wrongdoing in Zavala’s death after it was ruled accidental.
The state releases a quarterly report of medical incidents at theme parks, including Disney World, Universal, Sea World, Busch Gardens and Legoland.
