FLORIDA, USA — Parts of the Florida Panhandle reported snow starting early Sunday morning, in a typically rare event for the Sunshine State that’s now happened two years in a row.

The National Weather Service reported overnight that snowfall amounts would increase, with higher snowfall rates and colder temperatures allowing for accumulations of 1-2 inches, with localized areas possibly seeing three inches.

A similar event happened in January 2025, when areas such as Milton, located near Pensacola, got the most snow with one part having a total of 9.8 inches.
