A ground stop has been issued at Orlando International Airport, leaving travelers in chaos this holiday weekend.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued the temporary halt of planes around 12.30pm Sunday after a United Airlines plane arriving from Chicago ‘became disabled on the runway after making a hard landing,’ the agency told the Daily Mail.

The frightening incident involved United Airlines Flight 2323, which suffered a ‘mechanical issue upon landing,’ according to the airline.

A total of 200 passengers and six crew members were onboard the airplane. No injuries were reported, according to officials.

It remains unclear what caused the issue or what it was.

A user posted an image of a United Airlines jet stopped on the runway at the Florida airport, away from the main terminals.

According to officials, the on-site crew helped passengers disembark from the aircraft and transported them to the terminal by buses.

The airport temporarily stalled all operations related to this flight during the incident.

The Daily Mail contacted the FAA and United Airlines for comment.

It is also unclear if weather played a roll in the ‘mechanical issue’ as the Sunshine State is currently experiencing cold, windy and rainy conditions as a winter storm moves across the East Coast and nearby places, including Florida and Georgia
