If you must go to work tomorrow, you must not be Morrissey.

It’ happened, St. Petersburg, and you won’t be seeing your favorite British crooner on Tuesday after the 66-year-old canceled the show.

An Monday afternoon email from the venue, Duke Energy Center for the Arts Mahaffey Theater, cited “artist illness” as the culprit. As of last weekend, as Rolling Stone pointed out, the Moz has already canceled 19% of his planned 2026 tour dates—unsurprising since he missed half of his planned performances in 2025.

Refunds, the email added, are on the way via the original payment method.

Fans had high hopes for Morrissey actually making the gig, however, especially since the show set for Tuesday, Jan. 20 was already a makeup date from a show that was set for last May. Morrissey even showed up to a recent San Antonio gig, even chiding a reporter who cheekily published a story highlighting the dodgy nature of buying a ticket to  one of his shows.
