PORT ST. LUCIE — Giving back to the community is an annual tradition for the Port St. Lucie Newcomers Club. Each year, the group donates $1,000 to two deserving local charities — and this year’s recipients are Little Birthday Angels and Harmony Hope Stables.
Little Birthday Angels works to make sure every homeless child on the Treasure Coast feels celebrated on their special day. Volunteers deliver birthday bags filled with gifts each month, bringing smiles and a sense of belonging to children who might otherwise be overlooked.
Harmony Hope Stables provides a unique blend of music activities and equine-assisted learning in a nurturing environment. The nonprofit helps children navigate challenges such as autism, ADHD, anxiety, abuse, PTSD, and depression by giving them a safe space to connect, grow, and heal alongside horses.
In addition to its charitable efforts, the PSL Newcomers Club offers members a full calendar of social events — from lunches and dinners at local restaurants to day trips, craft classes, concerts, golf, and book clubs. The club welcomes both new and longtime residents who want to make friends and get involved in the community.
Monthly meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at the Moose Lodge, 101 NW Marion Ave., Port St. Lucie. Social hour begins at 9 a.m., followed by the meeting at 10 a.m.
Annual dues are $45 for individuals and $65 for families (two adults in the same household). For more information, email gksnider@gmail.com
