Cape Coral City Council is scheduled to host a final public hearing Jan. 21 on the long-planned Seven Islands mixed-use development along Old Burnt Store Road North.

Ordinance 60-25 would formalize a development agreement between the city and Gulf Gateway Resort & Marina LLC for the 47-acre site, which the city sold in 2022 for $20 million after acquiring it through foreclosure.

The proposal includes up to 995 residential units, a 10-story hotel, a 39-slip marina, commercial space and a range of public amenities, such as a community center, amphitheater, dog park, splash pad and kayak launch.

City officials say the project has undergone extensive planning and public input over several years. The meeting begins at 4 p.m. at City Hall and is open to the public.Â
