TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Florida Department of Health in Leon County has issued a health alert for harmful blue-green algae toxins found in a pond at Dorothy B. Oven Park.
The alert is in response to a water sample taken on January 15th.
The DOH-Leon is advising the public to exercise caution in and around the pond and to avoid the affected area.
“Do not swim, wade, or drink from affected waters. If you have contact with the algae, wash thoroughly with soap and water. Keep pets away from the area,” the Florida DOH said.
