Female Winner:  Malena Sabez (Mendoza, Argentina/Padre Claret)
 Malena Sabez scored six goals in two games this weekend, scoring once in Miami’s 8-0 shutout over Central Michigan and scoring all five of Miami’s goals in their 5-0 shutout over Ball State. Sabez was dominant on penalty corners, with all six scores coming on penalty corners with two assists. She had 19 total shots, 15 shots on goal, and a game winner, all while playing strong defense to help the RedHawks to improve to 6-1 in MAC play. Additionally, Sabez’s 20 season goals make her the top freshmen in Miami program history for goals scored and the nation’s leading freshman in goals per game. A freshman from Mendoza, Argentina, she is studying Exploratory Studies in the College of Arts and Science.

Male Winner: Dequan Finn
Dequan Finn had his best game as a member of the RedHawks, totaling four touchdowns in Miami’s 44-30 win over Eastern Michigan. Finn completed 13-of-22 passes for 159 yards and two touchdowns, and added 58 yards and two more scores on the ground as the RedHawks possessed the ball for 42:09 of the contest. A sixth year quarterback from Detroit, Mich., he is studying Anthropology in the College of Arts and Science.
