After an eight-year break, Ceviche Tapas Bar & Restaurant plans its return to Tampa. The Spanish dining spot will fill the former Alma space at 2223 N. Westshore Blvd. in International Plaza.

Guests will step into a striking two-story space with soaring 30-foot ceilings. A glass case displays 2,000 wine bottles, while cooks work their magic in plain view. Outside, a covered patio shields diners from sudden storms.

The new site tops its St. Petersburg cousin in size, seating 50 more guests. A bigger kitchen speeds up service and boosts capacity. Midday visitors will find new quick-serve options next to classic tapas choices.

At the stove stands Executive Chef Horacio Salgado, a 27-year veteran. His menu mixes old family secrets with Spain’s time-tested dishes. Diners share plates of manchego croquetas, premium Iberian ham, and steaming paella.

Fresh talent David Blackmon joined from Atlanta’s star-rated Bacchanalia to lead sister spot Rococo Steak. Now he teams up with Salgado to push both kitchens to new heights.

“Each of our chefs has their own strengths, and when they collaborate, it brings out the best in everyone,” Karlins said. “It’s not something you see often between restaurants in the same group.”

Since 1997, Ceviche has sparked Tampa Bay’s small-plate dining trend. Now the group sets its sights on growth from Sarasota to Boca Raton, keeping tight control of each spot.

The new location puts Ceviche among 170 top shops and eateries, next to Capital Grille, Cheesecake Factory, and Rocco’s Tacos. Starting summer 2026, doors open daily for lunch through dinner.
