Residents are experiencing allergy symptoms as large amounts of pollen from palm trees coat cars outside Orange Theory Fitness on Santa Barbara Boulevard, resembling snow.Nathan Borkowski, manager of Orange Theory Fitness in Cape Coral, said, “They thought it was ash, snow. According to Dr. Ronald Negrich, an allergist in Fort Myers, “The drier it gets, you know, things float more and more and more. And so I think that’s a cause of people’s symptoms too.” “When we see that on our cars, we have a reaction of starting sneezing and coughing, you know, the typical things of allergies, like a runny nose and, and if you have asthma, you could also wheeze with that,” he said.Negrich noted that allergy cases have been on the rise due to drier air conditions from less rain this year. “They seem to be on the rise right now — people that have allergies should do a couple things before they go outside.
