On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at approximately 11:24 a.m., Cape Coral Police officers responded to a reported burglary at a home located in the 2100 block of Cape Coral Parkway West.

According to the initial call, unauthorized individuals were inside the residence despite the property being listed and not currently rented. Upon arriving in the area, officers were informed by witnesses that a man matching the suspect’s description was walking eastbound along Cape Coral Parkway.

Officers quickly located the suspect, later identified as Christopher Darrell Cole (DOB 06/04/1988), who attempted to flee on foot when approached. After a brief pursuit, officers apprehended Cole and took him into custody without injury.

An investigation revealed that Cole had unlawfully entered the home, where damage consistent with cigarette burns was found on several pieces of furniture valued at approximately $1,099.99. The suspect told officers he had entered through an unlocked door and claimed to have “exchanged a pair of shoes” for the residence.

Based on the investigation, Christopher Cole was arrested and charged with the following:
