FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — A 38-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday after deputies say they found him asleep, reclined, and exposed in a car outside a Fort Pierce Wawa.

The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded around 3:55 a.m. on January 29 to the Wawa at 121 S. Kings Highway after multiple callers reported concerning behavior from a man parked directly in front of the store.

Deputies said they found Kevin Michael Curtin, of Bradenton, asleep in the driver’s seat with his seat fully reclined. His state of undress, they said, left little doubt as to why customers called 911.

Curtin was taken into custody without incident and booked into the St. Lucie County Jail on a charge of indecent exposure.

The sheriff’s office added in its statement that early morning convenience store stops are best limited to “coffee, fuel, and possibly a morning snack” — not actions that lead to an arrest.
