You know longer have to cross the pond for your favorite bag of crisps. The Wee British Shop is now open at 3705 5th Ave N, delivering sweet treats, snacks, and delicacies from the U.K. and Ireland.

The small shop is just under 1,300 square feet, but it is packed full of imported snacks, candies, and tea. There has been a long-running debate about which country has better snacks: the US or the UK? Personally, I think it’s pretty hard to beat Cadbury chocolate and dark chocolate Digestives.

Missing home or just want to have a small taste of the UK and Ireland? Now’s the chance to visit The Wee British Shop to get some classic English breakfast tea and biscuits. But this little shop offers so much more: Chocolate, hard candy, crisps (chips), sausages, HP sauce and, that’s right,  baked beans.

From across the pond to St. Pete

The Wee British shop was founded by the duo of Sarah (from Greenock, just outside Glasgow) and John (from Brentwood, Essex), who have lived in the area for years but missed the little things that reminded them of life in Ireland and England.

“The shop was born out of a love for all the comforts and flavours of ‘home’ that one can’t always find abroad,” The Wee British Shop writes on their website. “After living in the Tampa Bay area for about a decade, Sarah and John realised that something was missing — a local spot in St. Pete where the British and Irish community, and anyone curious about those traditions, could shop and connect.”

Even for those new to the world of British and Irish wares, The Wee British Shop is a must-try experience. It can be eye-opening (and taste bud-popping) to try the imported versions of your favorite snacks and comfort foods. Even something as uniquitous and well known as the Kit-Kat Bar is completely different, while tea lovers will get a jolt from the noticeably stronger Twinings.

Already, the positive reviews are coming in for The Wee British Shop, located next door to Bright Ice, one of the best dessert places in the area. Follow them on instagram to see the latest.
