January 31, 2026 – Pinellas County is under a Winter Advisory due to strong winds accompanying historically cold temperatures that will drop into the 30s overnight Saturday and Sunday. Those seeking a warm refuge during the day can visit St. Petersburg libraries or St. Vincent de Paul. Cold night shelters will open countywide from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. In St. Petersburg, those include the Unitarian Universalist Church at 100 Mirror Lake Dr. N., Salvation Army at 1400 4th St. S., Allendale Church at 3803 Hainres Rd. N. and Northwest Church at 6330 54th Ave. N. Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority buses will again provide free rides to shelters.
