Looking to get your prog rock fix in about a year from now? If so, do we have some big news for you. Rush announced they will make their first visit to South Florida in over a dozen years when they play Hard Rock Live on November 5, 2026 as part of their Fifty Something Tour.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, October 31 at noon and start at $205 via Hard Rock’s website. There is also a presale you can access by signing up at livemu.sc/rush by Thursday, October 23 at 11:59pm ET.
The Canadian Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees first started in 1968. It took a little while for Rush’s heady lyrics and intricate musical arrangements to find an audience, but when they did, there was no looking back as their tours packed arenas and they sold over 45 million albums. While songs like “Tom Sawyer,” “Limelight,” and “The Spirit of Radio” became classic rock staples.
Rush were also beloved for keeping the same lineup for decades, consisting of bassist and distinctively high-pitched singer Geddy Lee, guitarist Alex Lifeson, and drummer Neal Peart. Sadly, for this tour, they had to make their first line-up change since 1974 as drummer extraordinaire Neal Peart died in 2020. Peart will be replaced behind the drum kit for this tour by Anika Nilles.
Last time Rush played South Florida was back in April of 2013 on their Clockwork Angels Tour at Amerant Bank Arena. This writer attended that show, and while that venue wasn’t sold out, the fans who were there sang along to every word of a 28-song set that went on for three hours. There seems to be much greater demand for this Fifty Something Tour as the first leg of the tour sold out in a matter of days. The band’s website declares, “shows will find the band playing two sets each night. Each show will feature a distinct selection of songs, and Rush will build each night’s setlist from a catalogue of 35 songs, including their greatest hits and fan favorites.” November 2026 can’t come soon enough for those who want to “Catch the mist, catch the myth Catch the mystery, catch the drift.”
Rush. 8 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2026, at Hard Rock Live, 1 Seminole Way, Hollywood; 866-502-7529; myhrl.com. Tickets go on sale Friday, October 31, at 10 a.m., starting at $205 via myhrl.com.
