CLEARWATER, Fla. — A car crashed in Clearwater, slamming into a local business.
The Clearwater police said Monday evening that a car crashed into the Robert’s Christmas Wonderland shop.
No injuries were reported inside the store, and the 69-year-old man who was driving was taken to a local hospital “to be checked out.”
According to officers, the man was driving westbound on Gulf to Bay Boulevard before losing control of his car.
The man “crossed three eastbound lanes before hitting the building,” police said.
According to Robert’s Christmas Wonderland’s website, the business has been in the Tampa Bay for more than 40 years.
So far in 2026, preliminary data from the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles shows that Pinellas County has seen 897 crashes, leaving 1 person dead and 596 people injured.
In 2025, the FLHSMV data shows that Pinellas County had 13,528 crashes, resulting in 8,219 injuries and 94 deaths.
