Hillsborough deputies have arrested a man accused of fatally shooting another man following a dispute in Tampa on Monday, the sheriff’s office said.
Maurice Blackmon, 44, faces a charge of second-degree murder in the death of Corey Brown, 34, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The shooting was reported shortly after 6:30 a.m. Monday on North Nebraska Avenue and 129th Avenue. When deputies arrived, they found Brown with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators determined that Blackmon shot Brown after an argument, and Blackmon was arrested Monday evening, according to the sheriff’s office.
Records show Blackmon was being held Tuesday at the Orient Road Jail without bond. An arrest affidavit with more information was not immediately available.
“No disagreement should ever lead to violence and the loss of life,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said in the news release. “Thanks to the quick work of our detectives, this person is off our streets and will be held accountable for their senseless actions.”
