TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Water was restored Thursday morning for Leon County mobile home residents who were without water for about a week.
Residents in more than 40 homes at the Florida Sun Estates raised concerns on Wednesday over health, sanitation and the financial burden of buying water.
Leon County Commissioner Christian Caban shared in a social post Thursday afternoon that county staff created sanitation stations overnight Wednesday with hot showers, clean restrooms and handwashing facilities.

Caban said the Florida Department of Health in Leon County is working with residents to guarantee water service.
“FDOH will remain actively engaged and will be continuing their assessment – we will rely on their final determination before confirming that safe, potable water is fully restored across the property,” Caban said.
According to previous reporting, Caban said FDOH would be fining the landlord $500 a day starting Thursday until the water issue was fixed.
