Whataburger is coming to Orlando. Here’s where it will open

  • February 5, 2026

ORLANDO, Fla. – The popular burger chain Whataburger is making its foray into Orlando with a brand-new restaurant, according to property records obtained by News 6 this week.

A search on the county’s permitting website reveals that the restaurant is set to open in the Town Park Shopping Center along East Colonial Drive.

Permit records shows that a vacant restaurant located at 12305 E. Colonial Drive has been approved to be converted into the new Whataburger restaurant, complete with the following elements:

A directional sign

Clearance bar

Drive-thru window

Canopy

Menu board

Furthermore, county records say that the restaurant will span 2,554 square feet.

You can see the approved interior plan below.

The Texas-based burger chain first opened its doors in Corpus Christi all the way back in 1950.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, Whataburger’s previous locations in Central Florida, including two in Orlando and Ocala, were shuttered in 2009.

As of now, Whataburger has 48 listed locations across the Sunshine State, though the closest to Orlando is situated all the way out in Largo.
