On February 5, 2026, at approximately 1:10 p.m., officers with the Cape Coral Police Department responded to the intersection of Del Prado Boulevard North and NE Pine Island Road in reference to a reported road rage incident involving property damage.
According to the victims, they were traveling eastbound on NE Pine Island Road in their vehicle when a white Chevrolet Traverse attempted to prevent them from changing lanes in a construction zone. After successfully merging, the driver of the Chevrolet reportedly became aggressive, making obscene gestures and yelling while both vehicles were in motion. Shortly thereafter, the victims heard a loud impact on the passenger side of their vehicle and later discovered a dent and scratch estimated at approximately $1,200 in damage.
The suspect’s vehicle, a 2016 white Chevrolet Traverse, was registered to Maggie L. Meaney (W/F, 02/28/2001). Officers were initially unable to locate the vehicle or suspect at the time of the call. Later in the day, officers used investigative techniques to locate the suspect’s vehicle parked at BJ’s Wholesale Club (1929 NE Pine Island Road). The vehicle was occupied by Maggie Meaney and Xzavier R. Meaney (DOB 10/20/1999). Both individuals were found to have active warrants — Maggie from Collier County and Xzavier from both Collier and Lee Counties.
The investigation determined that Maggie Meaney was involved in a road rage incident and threw a white glass coffee cup at the victims’ vehicle during a fit of anger. Xzavier Meaney corroborated the sequence of events, stating he attempted to calm Maggie down before she threw the cup.
Officers developed probable cause to arrest Maggie Meaney for the following offenses:
FSS 790.19 – Throwing Deadly Missile (at, within, or into an occupied vehicle)FSS 806.13(1)(b)(3) – Criminal Mischief (property damage over $1,000, a felony)
Additionally, Maggie L. Meaney and Xzavier R. Meaney were arrested on their outstanding warrants from separate cases.
Both suspects were transported to the Lee County Jail without incident.
The Cape Coral Police Department reminds all motorists to remain calm during driving encounters and to contact law enforcement if confronted with aggressive drivers.
