LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — Tuesday, February 4, the Jacksonville North Pulaski School District shared a letter, informing parents and community members of a planned student walkout in protest of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

As circulating social media posts and flyers made its way to the public, the district learned of the demonstration, slated to take place at Jacksonville High School on Friday, February 13.

“The District wants to make it clear that this activity is not sponsored, organized, or endorsed by the Jacksonville North Pulaski School District or any of its schools,” according to JNSPD.

“While JNPSD respects students’ rights to express opinions and engage in lawful civic discourse, district and school policies do not allow disruptions to the instructional day or the orderly operation of schools.”

Those who participate in the walkout, or plan to exit the premises without permission, will face “disciplinary consequences in accordance with district policy.”
