With staff and supporters looking on, Dr. Anita Del Bianco cuts the ribbon to officially open the new building. PROVIDED
Premier Women’s Care of Southwest Florida cut the ribbon on its new 40,797-square-foot medical office building at 1606 Santa Barbara Blvd. in Cape Coral Monday, Feb. 2.
The practice has permanently closed its office on VIscaya Parkway in Cape Coral, and all Cape Coral appointments will be in the new building. The practice will continue operating its two Fort Myers offices on Park Royal Drive and at The Forum.
The new, stat-of-the-art office building will enable the local women’s health practice to expand and enhance its services in Cape Coral. The practice offers comprehensive gynecological and obstetrical care, including well-woman exams, family planning, adolescent gynecology, gynecologic surgery, minimally invasive surgery, prenatal and postpartum care, urogynecology, menopause care and weight management.
In-office procedures will be expanded with the opening of the new building, and the new office will also have a dedicated area for fetal monitoring.
“Our Cape Coral patients are going to love the new building,” said Dr. Shannon O’Hara. “In addition to comfortable, modern facilities, the 37 exam rooms and three procedure rooms will enable us to hire more women’s health providers, so we will have more available appointments — including same-day appointments.”
Situated on 2.27 acres, the first floor of the new office building will feature three ultrasound suites, 3D mammography with changing rooms, offices, an elevator and covered parking. In addition, 3,000 square feet of office space is available for lease.
The second floor will house exam and procedure rooms, phlebotomy, consultation rooms, offices, storage and a breakroom.
The Cape office currently has nine ob-gyns, one urogynecologist, five certified nurse midwives and three physician assistants. Overall, the practice has 30 providers.
“The practice is growing along with the community,” said Dr. Sarah Digiorgi. “We are seeking to fill more provider positions and have already hired a new ob-gyn, who will be joining us in the fall, as well as a new midwife, who started with us recently. Our services are expanding as well. After many years of offering screening mammograms in-house, we can now perform diagnostic mammography in our office as well for those patients whose initial results require further evaluation. With the opening of the new building, we will continue to expand and enhance our services, including in the treatment of pelvic floor disorders, menopause care, prenatal care and more.”
