FBU Camp organizer Lo Wood, aka The Kamp King, had to give way to his moniker at the 2026 Orlando FBU Camp at West Orange on Saturday, because on this day, the king was Gavin Pritzkau.
Pritzkau, who will be a freshman at Central Florida Christian Academy in the fall, dominated play at the camp and was named the overall MVP for the day. Precision passing and tight spirals are the standard for Pritzkau, who has become a camp regular on the Orlando scene, having been attending camps since he was before he was 10 years old.
The other high school-level MVPs on Saturday were: QB Harrison Leddy of Jacksonville University Christian, RB Ethan Williams of Starke Bradford, WR Chase Guers of Schuykill Haven (Pa.) Blue Mountain High, OL Jensser Villanueva Calderon of Pensacola Tate, DL Gabriel Octtaviani Gonzalez of Venice, LB Blaze Allen of Bishop Moore and DB Colton Huntley of Foundation Academy.
The overall middle school MVP was linebacker Saiid Eugenio of Tampa Pierce Middle.
Position MVPs at the middle school level were: QB Miles Von Herbulis of Sanford Markham Woods Middle, WR Evan Good of Winter Garden Hamlin Middle, OL Nolan Honour of Orlando Timber Springs Middle, DL Yaniel Moises of Palm Coast Buddy Taylor Middle, DB Ja’Quan Bentley of Okeechobee South Middle.
Pritzkau has been on the camp scene for years, learning from his predecessors in the early stages, but now he rules the camp circuit, and he’s only going to be a freshman.
“I feel great about the MVP. I’ve just been putting in hard work in the offseason, been in the gym,” Pritzkau said. “I just came out here making sure I play to the standard that I hold myself to.”
Now Pritzkau begin to help the younger players learn like those who came before him. He could be heard often on Saturday screaming encouragement to the middle school group during one-on-one drills.
“I try to lead by example. When I see the younger guys I try to interact with them because when I was their age, that’s what I would want and that would mean the world to me,” Pritzkau. “I just try to give them tips and help them out.”
It’s become the transfer era in high school football, just like at the college level, and CFCA has lost several key components off last year’s 9-1 tea, but Pritzkau said he’s staying put for now.,
“Yeah, God has a plan for me and that plan for me is to stay there,” Pritzkau said. “We’re gonna go to a state championship this year and we’re gonna win it.”
Rising Bishop Moore senior Allen was a bit of a newcomer on the camp scene a year ago, but he’s made huge strides and he was named the linebacker MVP on Saturday.
“It feels great. I’m working out three times a day, just trying to get better,” Allen said. “It feels amazing to come out here and compete and come out on top.”
He was the second leading tackler for the Hornets, which went 12-2 and made it to the 3A state semifinals this past season. Allen averaged 8.4 tackles per game
“Our team is looking really good,” Allen said. “We’re working hard and getting better and better every day, just grinding.”
