A bystander saved a person in a car in a Martin County pond early Feb. 6, according to Martin County Fire Rescue.

Firefighters responded just after 8 a.m. Feb. 6 to reports of a vehicle in the water. When they arrived, firefighters located the victim and bystander and a submerged vehicle.

The victim was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Divers with Martin County Fire Rescue searched the sunken vehicle for other occupants and found none.
