Southeastern Grocers, LLC (SEG) announced a strategic shift to rebrand as The Winn-Dixie Company, focusing on growth in Florida and select Georgia markets.

This move will see the closure of Winn-Dixie locations in Alabama, as well as Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi by early 2026.

Anthony Hucker, Chairman and CEO, emphasized the company’s commitment to its Florida roots, stating, “For a century, Winn-Dixie has proudly called Florida home.”

SEG plans to invest in modernizing stores and expanding its liquor store portfolio in Florida. The company will acquire Hitchcock’s Markets in Alachua, Keystone Heights, and Williston, converting them to Winn-Dixie stores. The new Williston location is set to open in December 2025. SEG extends gratitude to its associates and communities, promising a respectful transition.
