The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says that one person has died and another is being treated for life-threatening conditions.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says that one man has died and another is in life-threatening conditions after a reported utility vehicle crash on Sunday night.
JSO says the crash occurred at around 10 p.m. on Sunday, February 8, in the 8400 block of Fort Caroline Rd.
According to the sheriff’s office, a driver of a Ford Escape was traveling westbound on Fort Caroline Rd before a “side-by-side utility vehicle” struck the rear of the car. The agency says that all six occupants of the side-by-side were ejected after the utility vehicle overturned.
JSO says that all occupants were transported to a local hospital by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue, however an occupant in his early twenties is said to have died after arriving at the hospital, and another is said to be in life-threatening condition.
This incident marks the 20th traffic fatality in Duval County in 2026.
