CFI TO HOST LUNCH, LEARN FOR NONPROFITS
The Charitable Foundation of the Islands (CFI) invites nonprofit leaders on Sanibel and Captiva to a Lunch & Learn focused on strengthening nonprofit board recruitment and leadership.
It will take place on Feb. 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Sanibel & Captiva Islands Association of Realtors, at 2353 Periwinkle Way, Suite 201, Sanibel.
The session will feature The Potrero Group Chief Executive Officer and Principal Cleveland Justis and will be moderated by CFI Executive Director Dolly Farrell. They will share insights on open board searches and practical strategies for recruiting stronger, more inclusive board leadership.
The discussion is inspired by the Stanford Social Innovation Review article’s “How Nonprofits Can Recruit Better Board Members,” co-authored by Justis and CFI Board Member Susan S. Boren.
The session is designed for executive leaders and board members seeking actionable tools to strengthen governance and leadership capacity within their organizations. Up to three members of each organization’s leadership team are welcome to attend.
Lunch will be provided.
To register or for more information, visit https://form.jotform.com/250915913702152 or contact CFI Director of Community Engagement Savannah Kelly at skelly@sancapcfi.org.

FLORIDA TRUST TO OFFER SPECIAL PROGRAM
Florida Trust Wealth Management will host a special estate planning program on Feb. 17 at 9:30 a.m. at The Community House on Sanibel and at 4 p.m. at its Bell Tower Office in Fort Myers.
“Perpetual Wealth — The Legal, Tax and Financial Systems Weren’t Built with You in Mind” will be presented by nationally recognized attorney and CPA Craig Hersch, author of “Perpetual Wealth.”
The educational program will explore why the most successful families do not simply accumulate wealth; they design durable legal, tax and financial systems to protect it across generations.
Drawing from the principles in his book, Hersch will outline practical strategies families can use to build structures that support long-term control, efficiency and legacy planning.
Attendees will gain insight into how traditional planning frameworks often fall short for high-achieving families and how a more integrated, system-based approach can help align wealth, family goals and governance.
Seating is limited and registration is required.
To register, contact Andrea McKiddie at amckiddie@floridatrust.com or 239-472-8300.
The Community House is at 2450 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel.
The Bell Tower Office is at 13525 Bell Tower Drive, Fort Myers.
FISH ANNOUNCES NETWORK PROGRAM
FISH of Sanibel-Captiva has launched a new community-centered effort called the Neighbor Network.
It was created to help local businesses and organizations show their support for neighbors, while making information about FISH programs easy to access for anyone who may need it.
Participants help share information about FISH as a general community resource, like including materials in onboarding packets, posting information in break rooms or making pamphlets available.
FISH provides the easy-to-share information about its programs and services, as well as updates on special events, workshops, new services and volunteer opportunities.
It also offers guidance on sharing information respectfully, ensures resources are available to access voluntarily and confidentially, and serves as a point of contact for questions or support.
Participants will receive a “Proudly Helping Our Neighbors With FISH OF SANCAP” window decal. They are also listed on FISH’s website and may choose to share additional materials.
FISH noted that participation does not suggest that a business’ employees rely on its services.
Businesses and organizations interested in participating can contact Community Outreach and Resiliency Director Simon Robson at 239-472-4775 or simon@fishofsancap.org.
SAN CAP BANK OPENS FORT MYERS BRANCH
Sanibel Captiva Community Bank announced the reopening of its McGregor Boulevard Branch in Fort Myers after being closed for more than three years due to damage and flooding from Hurricane Ian.
The original building, which sustained catastrophic structural damage during the storm, was ultimately razed and rebuilt from the ground up.
The new branch debuts the bank’s refreshed exterior design and modern, updated look. The building blends the bank’s warm, community-focused atmosphere with contemporary features, including a community room with full audio-visual capabilities, multi-lane drive-thru, two electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and safe deposit boxes.
The bank noted that the reopening of the McGregor Branch is a significant milestone for it as the branch was its third office and the first one off of Sanibel Island.

The McGregor Branch is at 15975 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers.
