The splash pad of Shrek’s Swamp in Universal Studios Florida has been paved over with concrete, apparently indicating the water play area is no more. The splash pad was part of Shrek’s Swamp for Little Ogres in DreamWorks Land, which opened in June 2024. About a year later, construction resumed on the splash pad. It was completely blocked off and demolished by late September.
Shrek’s Swamp Splash Pad Paved Over

Photographer bioreconstruct shared pictures of the newly-paved space on X. Where the splash pad used to be is just this patch of concrete. It’s still blocked by construction walls.
It at least isn’t completely plain, blank concrete. It has ogre and donkey prints stamped into it.
For reference, below is what the splash pad looked like.
We don’t know the reason for the splash pad’s removal. Guests can still meet Shrek, interact with Pinocchio, and play on the climbing gym.
Ironically, (as of February 11, 2026) the header image of the Shrek’s Swamp webpage is still the splash pad and it still says kids can “splish, splash and spray people with water in a swampy play area.”
