CHATTANOOGA, Tenn — Chattanooga travelers now have a nonstop option to South Florida.

Allegiant Airlines has launched new direct service between Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport and Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport.

The new route connects travelers in the Scenic City to Fort Lauderdale, often called the Venice of America, giving them direct access to South Florida and connections to dozens of destinations worldwide.

Airport officials say the addition expands leisure travel options and provides convenient access to major cruise ports and beach destinations.

We’re thrilled to see Allegiant continuing to invest in Chattanooga with new nonstop service to Fort Lauderdale,” said April Cameron, CEO of the Chattanooga Airport. “This addition gives our customers more opportunities to reach South Florida and points beyond quickly and affordably, including convenient access to major cruise ports, while also making Chattanooga more accessible to visitors.

City leaders say expanded air service strengthens tourism and business travel.

“Strong partnerships with airline carriers like Allegiant mean more flights coming in and out of Chattanooga and more options for travelers,” said Mayor Tim Kelly. “Today’s inaugural flight continues the success story of one of the fastest growing mid sized airports in the nation.”

Jim Hall, chairman of the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Authority, said the new route benefits both residents and the regional economy.

This nonstop service is a win for both our residents and our regional economy,” Hall said. “Expanded air service like this supports tourism, strengthens business connections, and reinforces Chattanooga’s position as a growing and accessible destination.
