The incident happened on Jan. 9 as the victim was working at a construction site in the 1500 block of San Remo Avenue, an arrest report said.

The victim was positioning a barricade for a street closure when he noticed a Rolls Royce traveling with the intention of entering the closure, the report said.

The victim waved at the driver, Urdaneta, that he had to turn around and go the opposite direction but the driver refused and started to enter the street closure while the victim was in his direct path, the report said.

Urdaneta intentionally drove forward, hitting and pushing the victim out of the way, the report said.

“The victim stated the driver looked directly at him and motioned with his right hand as if he wanted the victim to move out of his way,” the report said.

A witness saw the driver intentionally use the Rolls Royce to force the victim out of his path, and the witness was able to take photos of the vehicle, the report said.

Urdaneta was later identified as the driver and was arrested, police said.

According to the report, Urdaneta said he was driving but that the victim suddenly jumped in front of him and hit his windshield with an open hand, and said he left the area because he was scared.

Urdaneta was booked into jail and later went before a judge, who granted him a $5,000 bond.

Monat is based in Doral and was founded by Urdaneta and his son in 2014.
