In recent years, OzFestival headliners have included mostly rappers, such as Lil Yachty, Flo Milli, Yung Gravy and Don Toliver.

The Regulators won the opportunity to open at OzFest after winning the UNF Battle of the Bands competition in November.

About Waka Flocka Flame

American rapper Waka Flocka Flame, also known as Juaquin James Malphurs, launched his career with his 2009 single “O Let’s Do It” and his 2010 follow-up single “No Hands”. Malphurs has also received attention for more than just his music.

Specifically, Malphurs has received attention for his views on political and social issues. While he expressed his apparent disdain for President Donald Trump in a 2017 performance, Malphurs praised Trump in 2020 and expressed approval for Trump’s win in the 2024 presidential election.

During a July 2024 concert in Salt Lake City, Utah, Malphurs even told concertgoers to leave the venue if they supported Joe Biden.
