The vast number of hotels along Orlando’s International Drive tourist corridor can blend together for some visitors, so a little bit of extra service goes a long way in distinguishing one place for a recommendation.

When I got into the Homewood Suites along I-Drive late at night, I was dismayed to see the TV in the bedroom had been damaged by the last guest. I assumed this would at least take until the morning to get fixed, but as pleasant surprise, the hotel maintenance team actually brought up a whole new TV within the hour.

Sure, the rest of the one-bedroom suite had its plusses and minuses, but it’s more remarkable for a chain hotel like this to go above and beyond when something goes wrong — ensuring that it barely affected my stay.
