A 23-year-old man died after crashing his motorcycle into a pickup truck Sunday in Lighthouse Point, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office said.

The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. near the 4800 block of North Federal Highway.

Steven Evanosky, 24, of Deerfield Beach, was driving a 2002 Ford Ranger and making a right turn from a McDonald’s parking lot to head north on the highway, the sheriff’s office said. Daniel West, of Lantana, was riding a 2010 BMW S1000RR in the same direction and hit the driver’s side of the pickup truck.

West was thrown from his motorcycle and landed in the rear truck bed of the Ford. Lighthouse Point Fire Rescue said he died at the scene.

Evanosky did not report any injuries. The Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Investigation Unit is investigating the crash.
