TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Three more people have been arrested in connection to a million dollar fraud scheme, according to court records.
Briana McCarthy is facing a litany of charges after allegedly defrauding state agencies out of $1.7 million by approving fraudulent property damage claims while she was working as a Risk Management Program Specialist for the Florida Department of Financial Services.
Now, three more people are facing fraud charges, bringing the total to nine.
Shelton Allen, Latasha Belford and Nijah Johnson were all arrested last Thursday, according to court records.

All three are charged with grand theft and cashing a bank item with intent to defraud.
Court records indicate the three were subjects of fraudulent claims McCarthy approved.
Allen and Belford each cashed checks for over $8,000 and Johnson cashed one for nearly $7,000, according to court records.
Allen, Belford and Johnson are the latest arrested in this fraud scheme.
Last week, five people, including two former state employees, were arrested. Brianna Hannan, Carlotta Hawkins, Kearia Walker and Whitney Branch are all facing theft charges.
Additional arrests are expected.
