The City of Hialeah announced Monday that it would be creating a new center to monitor crime in real time.
The Real-Time Operation Center will be designed to enable “real-time monitoring of the city with the goal of preventing crime and ensuring immediate response to any incident,” city officials said in a news release.
Hialeah Mayor Jacqueline Garcia-Roves, along with the police and fire department, made the announcement jointly in the morning.
Right now, Hialeah has more than 300 officers and 242 firefighters that could benefit from the center, officials said.
“This innovative tool will strengthen their response capabilities and provide greater protection for residents,” the news release reads. “Through a centralized system, the city will be able to identify risks in real time, deploy resources strategically, and increase the safety of local families.”
