FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office will hold a news conference on Tuesday at 2 p.m. after a shooting claimed the life of a man in Fort Pierce.
The fatal shooting happened on Monday at around 12:45 a.m. on Oleander Avenue, near Kanner Drive. Deputies said a juvenile was taken into custody after a man was shot and killed.
The investigation remains active, led by the Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene Investigators.

Authorities also executed a search warrant at a second home on 928 Wagner Place, just blocks from the shooting scene. However, the Sheriff’s Office has not clarified how the two locations are connected. Neighbors told CBS12 they were shocked by the violence, describing frantic family members at the scene and noting ongoing issues in the area.

Deputies have continued interviewing neighbors at both homes as the investigation develops. More details are expected to be released during the 2 p.m. briefing.
