The Sanibel Police Department (SPD) reported that with so many visitors joining the island this week, it wants to ensure that the public enjoys its time exploring Sanibel’s sanctuary island.
It is anticipating a steady stream of guests each day this week, which might make morning and afternoon commutes a bit longer.
For visitors: Consider getting to the island early to experience a beautiful sunrise and stay for dinner to enjoy delicious island cuisine.
Stay in the know by downloading the city’s free Sanibel Bound app. It is the go-to resource for real-time traffic updates, helping the public navigate their travel throughout the island.
SPD Police Chief Bill Dalton encourages everyone to exercise patience.
“Our number one priority is safety,” he shared. “Please follow the direction of law enforcement personnel and, to reduce congestion, consider avoiding off-island directions of travel between 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.”
