Black Hills Energy Map shows PSPS warning status as of 12:38 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17.

Sangre de Cristo Electric Association (SDCEA) alerted customers in the Tallahassee area, Fremont County, and Custer County to be prepared for a potential outage on Tuesday, February 17.

Black Hills Energy provides transmission service to SDCEA in Fremont and Custer Counties. Black Hills announced on Monday that a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) Watch would be in effect for Tuesday, February 17.

As of 10:25 a.m. on Tuesday, SDCEA announced that Black Hills changed their PSPS Watch to a warning status for the hours of 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. As of 10:45 a.m. SDCEA announced the warning status continued.

“We suggest our members in the Tallahassee area, Fremont County, and in Custer County prepare for an extended outage during these times,” states SDCEA.

SDCEA states it will monitor the situation closely and alert members as soon as is possible if it receives more information.
